Specialist Secondary English handoff

Specialist owner: SETC Secondary English | Reading, Writing and Examination Performance.

For the deeper language system, use How English Works. Yishun’s Secondary English year pages remain diagnostic, recovery and local application routes, not the federation’s specialist English owner.

Yishun recovery: Diagnostics · Examination Performance · Academic Recovery.

Full SBB and the 2026 → 2027 boundary: G1, G2 and G3 are English Language subject levels, not streams. Under Full Subject-Based Banding, students may take different subjects at different levels; a student’s Posting Group is used for Secondary 1 admission and does not fix every subject at that level. Secondary 4 students graduating in 2026 may still prepare for the applicable GCE O-Level examination; from the 2027 graduating cohort, the national examination is the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). For 2027 English Language, SEAB lists G1 K100, G2 K200 and G3 K300. Route English guidance by the learner’s actual English Language subject level and current syllabus.

Recovery route for Secondary English: if weak marks, comprehension breakdown, writing inconsistency or examination pressure brought the reader here, start with the Recovery Atlas → Student Diagnostics → Examination Performance or Academic Recovery, then return here for the specific English material.

How to read legacy locality and tuition titles: eduKateYishun preserves many older URLs and article titles for archive continuity and search history. Treat “tuition centre”, “tutor”, school and place wording on those legacy pages as a route into the learning library, not as proof of a current physical branch or active class at that location. A historical title or slug should not be used to infer present-day availability.

When Secondary English practice reveals a learning problem

Do not keep adding subject exercises if the same failure mechanism repeats. Use the Learning Problems Hub to identify the mechanism, or return to Student Diagnostics when the cause is still uncertain. Once the mechanism is clear, use Learning Intervention. If the weakness appears mainly under assessment conditions, route through Examination Performance.

After the repair, use How to Check Whether Learning Recovery Is Working on a fresh task. When the evidence is stable, return here and continue ordinary Secondary English learning rather than extending recovery indefinitely.
