Federated examination and pathway routes

Use Yishun to diagnose setbacks, compare routes and recover; hand specialist English and Mathematics preparation to the federation owners above.

Current examination naming: use GCE N-/O-Level terminology for the relevant 2026 examinations and historical material. From the 2027 graduating cohort, use the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). Under Full SBB, G1, G2 and G3 are subject levels, not streams, and a learner may take different subjects at different levels. Current examination planning must therefore start from the examination year, the exact subject and the learner’s registered subject level.

How to read current secondary pathways: under Full Subject-Based Banding, G1/G2/G3 are subject levels and stream labels have been phased out. Posting Groups support school admission, while the SEC records the subjects and subject levels actually sat. When comparing pathways, always use the learner’s examination year and subject-level combination rather than treating one label as the learner’s entire academic identity.

Official examination and pathway sources

Use these landing pages as the durable authority layer. Direct syllabus PDFs can still be useful for detailed study, but current examination names, subject levels, registration rules and pathway arrangements should be checked from the official landing page for the relevant year.

When an examination result changes the available route

Use Second-Chance Education & Pathway Recovery when the question is no longer only “How do I improve this paper?” but “Should I retake, redirect, wait for the next intake or choose a different pathway?”

Decision routes: Should I Retake an Examination? · Compare Education Pathways After a Setback · Singapore Secondary Pathways After PSLE.

Recovery route for examinations and pathways: when a result changes the learner’s options, begin with the Recovery Atlas, use the repair-plan route for the academic response, and use Recovery & Transformation when the next step requires a different route rather than more of the same preparation.

How to read historical examination and tuition titles: older GCE, tutor, tuition-centre and locality pages are preserved for archive value and search continuity. Their titles do not by themselves prove a current class, branch, syllabus or registration route. For current examination preparation, use the live route above and verify the learner’s examination year, subject level and current official syllabus before acting.

If the examination result keeps repeating: route the paper through Student Diagnostics and Learning Problems before increasing revision volume. Use Tuition Science & Intervention when a change in support, practice structure or feedback loop needs to be tested.
